We would certainly require fur (ignoring the Mexican Hairless chihuahua, of course); we would require barking, four legs, canine teeth, claws, tails, and perhaps others. Would we require a specific color? A specific size? Probably not. Since we would not require a specific color or size, these features are to be considered irrelevant.
