2.7 Estimating Level When Data Are Variable

When you’re looking at data that are variable, it can be helpful to imagine a band that covers several of the data points in the phase to estimate the level. When the data are this variable, there will be many data points that do not fall within the band, so you want the band to have about half of the data points above it, and about half below it.
