Baseline data is crucial for developing a meaningful intervention.

Visual analysis is the product of the beginning and end stages of single-subject research. It allows the experimenter to graph the baseline data of a behaviour and allows us to graph the intervention behaviour, giving a side by side comparison to see if the behaviour did in fact change, and in what direction it changed, did it make the increase or decrease that we had hoped for or did it in fact make the behaviour worse than how it started.
