DTT typically occurs in a comfortable, secluded area (for example, a quiet room or cubicle) where there are few distractions.  The teacher sits close to the student (within arm’s reach) and works one-on-one with them. The teacher may sit across from, next to, or diagonal to the learner, depending on their needs.  DTT can also occur at a small table or on the floor.
