12.10 Setting and History Affect Function

So we know that both setting and a history of interacting with a stimulus can change the psychological functions of the stimulus for an organism. In a sense, the whole area of learning and conditioning in psychology is focused on understanding how stimulus functions are changed by interactions with the environment.
