…responding to the animal the father pointed to as though it is bigger than the other,  and responding to the other animal as though it is smaller. In other words, the contextual cues of the father pointing to an object and saying “This is bigger” now predicts reinforcement for making these mutually entailed relational responses to the two stimuli.
