Recall the example of Mrs. Howell in which she misinterpreted behavior-environment relationships. We observed how such an approach resulted in misleading information and unintended effects. This is one of a number of reasons that speak to the importance of using behavior-analytic terminology that is both accurate and precise.

Let’s look at some of the reasons why it is important to communicate in ways that are both accurate and precise.
