Updates to Mastering the Basics of Visual Analysis

May 12, 2023

We’ve just released a significant update to our popular multimedia tutorial, Mastering the Basics of Visual Analysis by Katie Wolfe and Timothy Slocum. Based on user feedback and to make the instruction more clear and socially valid, the tutorial now focuses on teaching the user to discriminate whether there is a basic effect (a change in either slope or level that is different from the prediction on the previous phase). Previously, the tutorial focused on the discrimination between slope and level change. These changes primarily impact Lesson 4 and the final quiz of the tutorial. We also added brand-new, high-quality audio narration throughout!

Notes Tool Retired

January 16, 2022

We used to offer a simple notes tool that could be used during modules to record personal notes. Unfortunately, the software we used for that tool proved increasingly unreliable and was causing problems on our site. There are also many third-party note-taking tools and browser extensions available now that are much more sophisticated and useful than our simple tool. Thus, we decided to retire our notes tool.

If you’re looking for a new way to take notes on our website (or any website!), some good options include Zoho Notebook (free), Google Keep (also free), Evernote (both free and paid plans), and Microsoft OneNote (included if you use Microsoft 365). LifeWire has a nice overview of note-taking apps, too.

CEU Summary Report

November 11, 2021

We now provide a CEU summary report that documents all of the CEU modules you have completed on FoxyLearning! This can be quite handy if you complete multiple modules with us and want a single document as verification rather than a certificate of completion for each module (although you can, of course, still download an individual certificate of completion for each module). The report can be accessed at any time from the myLearning dashboard.

This feature is now part of our new site, CEUniverse!

Country-Based Pricing

August 25, 2021

To make our modules more affordable throughout the world, we have implemented country-based pricing for all of our products. Discounts will be automatically applied for users who live in countries with an income per capita that is less than 75% of the United States, with greater discounts applied for greater disparities. The discount will be applied automatically at checkout based on your billing address.

Search for Coursepacks

September 18, 2020

Students who have lost or have not received the link to the coursepack for their course can now search for it via our new Buy a Coursepack page. Faculty and instructors should still share a direct link to their coursepack with students, as this will best reduce the possibility of students purchasing the wrong coursepack.

Progress Within Videos Now Saved Automatically

September 3, 2020

August 22, 2020

Several of our interactive video modules had broken or outdated links to download the speaker’s slides. These have all been fixed, both within the video and on the “Materials” tab of the module.

Coursepacks Replace Course Connection Codes

January 2, 2020

With our site’s relaunch, we have replaced the cumbersome “course connection” process with the simpler concept of coursepacks. Now to use one or more of our modules as a course supplement, you just follow these simple steps:

  1. Complete a simple form telling us which of our modules you’d like to use for your course. We’ll create a digital “coursepack” for you and send you a unique link to give to your students.
  2. Refer your students to your coursepack link. When they purchase the coursepack, they gain immediate access to the included modules and are automatically added to a private group associated with your course.
  3. Track the progress and performance of any students who purchased your coursepack from the myTeaching dashboard.
