Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about CEUs

After completing the tutorial, quiz, and survey, you will be able to immediately download a CEU completion certificate (in PDF format) via the myLearning page. The certificate will be customized with your information and provides evidence of your amazing learning experience with FoxyLearning!

Yes! FoxyLearning is approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board® to offer Type 2 continuing education for certified behavior analysts (ACE Provider Number: OP-10-2021).

We are also working to obtain approval from other credentialing agencies, such as the American Psychological Association. You may also be able to use our tutorials for CEUs for other purposes or credentialing agencies by asking them. We are happy to work with you to produce a custom CEU completion certificate if you need it.

The Behavior Analyst Certification Board® considers every 50 minutes of instruction to be equivalent to one continuing education unit (CEU). The length of time an individual takes to complete a self-paced tutorial can vary widely, however, and is difficult to track accurately (since you could take a long sandwich break or something in the middle of the tutorial and we would never know). Thus, we have adopted a standard formula for determining CEUs for our self-paced tutorials:

  • Each screen = 30 seconds of instruction

A common rule of thumb in the elearning/training world is that each screen = 1 minute of instruction. However, research conducted on an early version of our tutorial format indicates that 30 seconds per screen is more accurate, thus we use that for our formula. Neat, huh?

Questions about Ordering

The features of our lifetime”Lifetime” in this context refers to the life of FoxyLearning. While we hope that the company lives longer than you (no offense), thus giving you access throughout your lifetime, we cannot guarantee this. If the company ceases operation for any reason, we will make every attempt to continue providing access to lifetime subscribers (e.g., via hosting by a non-profit organization). and annualannual subscriptions do not renew automatically subscriptions are summarized in the table below.

to maintain certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®)
or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst® (BCaBA®)
♦ Earn Type 2 CEUs
♦ Immediate download of CEU completion certificate

What a silly question—we’ll never go out of business! We hope. This is a good question, though, because the “lifetime” subscriptions we offer provide you with unlimited access to the tutorial for as long as FoxyLearning is in business and offering the tutorial. If FoxyLearning ceases operations for any reason, an effort will be made to make tutorials available at no additional cost to lifetime subscribers via hosting by a non-profit organization (such as the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science or the Association for Behavior Analysis International) or sale to another company, but this is not guaranteed. If we are unable to find adequate hosting for the tutorials, we would likely make the programs freely available via a Creative Commons license. Such versions of our tutorials would likely be without database or performance recording capabilities, but the content would remain the same.

Of course, you can make all of this a moot point by encouraging all of your friends to try out some FoxyLearning! :)

Yes, before the end of your annual subscription, you can upgrade to a lifetime subscription for the difference in cost between the two. To upgrade, simply go to the myLearning page and click on the “Upgrade” button for your tutorial.

Questions about Tutorials

We’re glad you asked! In our experience, many of the online tutorials and CEU courses on the market are either a) ugly, b) boring, c) a pain in the butt to use, or d) all of the above. We try to avoid all of that by offering these characteristics for all of our tutorials:

  • An abundance of graphics and animations to illustrate complex concepts and processes
  • Highly interactive with multiple opportunities to check and apply your knowledge (these are not boring, passive, video-taped lectures!)
  • Full audio narration with captioning throughout
  • Entirely self-paced, with the ability to log in and out at any time, saving your progress and completing the tutorial whenever is most convenient to you
  • Fully online and easy to use; no need to email us your quiz results or wait for your CEU completion certificate
  • Unlimited opportunities to take the quiz
  • Embarrassingly affordable

Questions by/for Instructors

Students will notice a field called “Overall Practice Question Accuracy” in their tutorial results table on the myLearning page, and instructors will see this field in their course results table on the myTeaching page. This field presents the user’s overall accuracy on their first answers on the multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank practice questions presented during the tutorial’s lessons. Note that it includes only the user’s first attempt at the practice question, and does not include any additional attempts at the question the user may have made. This score is completely separate from the quiz scores presented in the results table.

It’s easy to use FoxyLearning as a supplement to your course or training program! Just follow these steps:

  1. Create an account on FoxyLearning.com (it’s free to create an account).
  2. List your course for free on FoxyLearning: go to the myTeaching section, click on the “Add a New Course” button, and enter your course information.
  3. Refer your students to FoxyLearning.com, letting them know they’ll need to create an account, purchase a subscription (either annual or lifetime is fine for courses) to the specified tutorial, and then “connect” to your course. They can “connect” by going to the myLearning section and clicking on the “Connect a Course” button below the tutorial of interest.
  4. Once students are connected, you’ll be able to log in and see their progress and performance on the tutorial in the myTeaching section.

When a student uses FoxyLearning’s “Connect a Course” feature to connect their performance and progress data to your course, you will see the following information for that student on your myTeaching page:

  • Whether or not the student has completed the tutorial
  • The last lesson the student completed
  • The student’s overall practice question accuracy
  • The student’s first quiz score
  • The student’s highest quiz score
  • The total number of quiz attempts by the student
  • The date and time the student last accessed the learning program

A sample course results table is shown below. You should make it clear to your students how or if you will use this information in your course or training (e.g., will points be awarded based on one or more of these factors?).

When you use FoxyLearning’s “Connect a Course” feature, the instructor of the course you connect will see the same performance and progress data that you see on the myLearning page. This includes:

  • Whether or not you have completed the tutorial
  • The last lesson you completed
  • Your overall practice question accuracy
  • Your first quiz score
  • Your highest quiz score
  • Your total number of quiz attempts
  • The date and time you last accessed the learning program

A sample of the results page your instructor will see is shown below. Remember that if/how your instructor uses this information is up to him or her! For example, your instructor might choose to give you points based on your first quiz score, your highest quiz score, or simply whether or not you have completed the program. Be sure to check with your instructor for details on how the FoxyLearning program is being used in your course.

Troubleshooting Questions

Due to the strange and magical forces of the interwebs and the way web browsers work, on rare occasions a tutorial may not be able to load a lesson you’ve already completed (we think it has to do with some weird caching issues…or inadequate virginal sacrifices to the IT gods, but we’re not sure). At any rate, the problem can usually be resolved by logging out of the website (save your work on the tutorial first, if necessary), and then logging back in and starting the tutorial again. If that doesn’t work, let us know and we’ll help resolve the problem.
